(RSF/IFEX) - Reporteros sin Fronteras toma buena nota de la detención, el 3
de marzo de 2009, de los sospechosos Juan Carlos y Saúl Herrero Abrego,
como resultado de la investigación del sabotaje de la emisora Radio
Rurrenabaque, ocurrido el 4 de septiembre de 2008 en el Departamento de
Beni (Nordeste). Ambos hermanos serían miembros del Comité Cívico de Beni
que, en una oleada de violencia en las regiones autonomistas, secuestró a
un periodista de la cadena pública radiofónica Red Patria Nueva (leer el
comunicado del 15 de septiembre de 2008 -

Por otra parte, Reporteros sin Fronteras considera indigna la reciente
actitud del alcalde de Santa Cruz (Este), Percy Fernández, quien, el 2 de
marzo de 2009, insultó y agredió a la periodista Marcia Cedeño, del canal
privado Unitel, en el transcurso de una conferencia de prensa, y que la
semana anterior tuvo el mismo comportamiento con un fotógrafo.

Two individuals arrested following investigation into sabotage of radio
station; mayor of Santa Cruz assaults journalist Marcia Cedeño

(RSF/IFEX) - Reporters Without Borders today noted the arrest on 3 March
2009 of two suspects, Juan Carlos and Saul Herrero Abrego, in the
investigation into the sabotage of Radio Rurrenabaque radio station, on 4
September 2008, in the department of Beni, northeastern Colombia. The two
brothers are reportedly members of the Beni Civic Committee that abducted
and held a journalist from the public radio network Red Patria Nueva during
a wave of violence in the autonomous regions (see the release of 15
September 2008 - http://www.rsf.org/article.php3?id_article=28550 ).
Elsewhere, Reporters Without Borders condemned as shameful the behaviour of
Percy Fernández, the mayor of Santa Cruz in eastern Bolivia, who insulted
and assaulted journalist Marcia Cedeño, of the privately-owned Unitel
television station, during a press conference on 2 March 2009. A week
earlier, Fernández behaved similarly towards a photographer.

(RSF/IFEX) - Reporters sans frontières prend acte de l'arrestation, le 3
mars 2009, de deux suspects, Juan Carlos et Saúl Herrero Ábrego, dans
l'enquête sur le sabotage de Radio Rurrenabaque qui a eu lieu le 4
septembre 2008, dans le département du Beni (Nord-Est). Les deux frères
seraient membres du Comité civique du Beni, qui avait séquestré un
journaliste du réseau radiophonique public Red Patria Nueva, lors d'une
vague de violence dans les régions autonomistes.
Par ailleurs, Reporters sans frontières juge indigne la récente attitude du
maire de Santa Cruz (Est), Percy Fernández, qui a insulté et agressé la
journaliste Marcia Cedeño, de la chaîne privée Unitel, le 2 mars, au cours
d'une conférence de presse, ainsi qu'un photographe la semaine précédente.
